Why you’ll love Veritas Prep:

INSTRUCTORS

I literally could not have asked for a better teacher. I have no idea where they pulled this guy out of, but most likely from a magician's hat. The dude is a wizard, and better than were most of my teachers at Harvard
-Niko H.

CURRICULUM

This course made a very competitive and complicated test easy to understand and provided me with the confidence I needed in tackling the GMAT! Hands down the best investment for anyone looking to take the GMAT.
-Corey H.

RESOURCES

Veritas exceeded all of my expectations. There is a resource for any need a student might have. And it's great that we still have access to all of the resources even after the course wrapped up!
-Lisa H.

RETAKE

Veritas has pleasantly surpassed my high expectations. Retaining a full year of online resources and the privilege to retake the course at a later time has proven immeasurably valuable to my journey.
-Jim S.

Sara Boehm can attribute that honor to her passions for higher education and for helping others. Having been valedictorian at Centre College, where she earned degrees in Economics and Mathematics, Sara earned her MBA at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated with honors. Nowadays in Los Angeles, she teaches for Veritas Prep by night and by day serves as founder/CEO of Essential Engagement Services, a company that guides families through relocation. Sara was great
She was very caring about the student's scores, she took the time to answer questions, and gave excellent overviews on the exam. I could not have had a better experience.

Sarah is such a great instructor
I think Sarah is such a great instructor and person. She genuinely cared about our preparation for the test and our post graduate school aspirations. I had to drive every weekend from Santa Barbara but I knew it would be worth it because Sarah never disappointed .

Created a great atmosphere for learning
Sara Boem was great. She cares about student's progress and would always make herself available if students had any concerns/issues outside of the night of class itself. All I can say is that she is very intelligent, created a great atmosphere for learning, and she is a great human being. I will recommend her to my friends and colleagues.

Education: BS,Truman State University | MA, History & Education, Truman State University | JD, University of Michigan
David Newland sees himself not simply as someone conveying information and content but as a coach as well. As he explains, “The students that I work with need more than knowledge, they need to be able to perform to the best of their abilities on test day and it is my pleasure to help them do it!” As a competitor both in athletics and debate his whole life, he could choose to focus on his own successes of which he’s had many, but David finds a greater pride and joy in learning of the triumphs of his students. He truly relishes hearing from students he’s worked with that they have gotten their goal score or into their dream program. So if you’re fortunate enough to work with David, please be sure to let him know when the same happens for you.

Despite all the accomplishments, David did suffered one somewhat traumatic blow early in life. “I put together a song and dance number for the third-grade school talent show and the music teacher required me to lip synch so that no one would have to hear me sing. My dreams of a music career were shattered.”

Born and raised in Independence, Missouri, David earned his JD from Michigan and MA and BA from Truman University and now enjoys living in the beauty of Vermont. In fact, inspired by the Green Mountain state’s quiet, open roads, he’s now considering getting a motorcycle so that he can drive very slowly on the deserted roads of the early mornings. Might just be a great chance to sing out loud as you go, David.

Could I have scored 700+ without David? Probably not
I paid for 28 hours of online tutoring with Veritas Prep. I was assigned David Newland as my instructor. It was the best money I could have spent. Within six weeks of working with David, I scored 770 and 760 on the GMAT Prep Software PP1 and PP2 tests. On the real exam I scored 700 (90%), comprising Quant 47 (73%) and Verbal 39 (88%). The drop between the PP tests and the real test was mostly due to nerves and bad time management on the day. Could I have scored 700+ without David? Probably not given I only had six weeks to prepare. David was excellent. With 8+ years of GMAT experience he knows how to solve every question the test can throw at you. He explained methodology in a clear and easy to apply fashion. He was also flexible and we could frequently schedule sessions on short notice.

This guy is smart and really knows the GMAT inside and out
Got so lucky to get David Newland as my instructor. I went into the course more confident in quant, and David is a verbal expert, specifically in Critical Reasoning. This guy is smart and really knows the GMAT inside and out, which was helpful since I had never taken the exam before. I could hear his voice inside my head as I did practice problems and during the actual GMAT.

David was excellent.
The instructor David was excellent. I found that he took the time to explain each section properly and in easy to understand language. I very much enjoyed this course and would recommend it to any one with a very hectic schedule.

Education:
MBA, UCLA Anderson School of Management
BA, Amherst College
Having first taught the GMAT in 2001, Mark has a long history of helping students succeed on the test. He oversaw an early version of the Veritas Prep GMAT curriculum, immersing himself in quadratic equations, participial phrases, and logic diagrams for countless hours – a role he calls “the best job he ever had”. After attending UCLA Anderson and working in management consulting, Mark has returned to to Veritas Prep as one of our top instructors. What’s so attractive about teaching the GMAT? As Mark puts it, “Not only are you helping students attend business school and advance their professional lives, you’re also opening their minds to methods of logical problem-solving. It’s really rewarding to see students ‘get it’ and gain the confidence to succeed on the test.” Judging by outstanding student results over the years, their confidence has been well-placed!
