Nuts & Bolts
Career Development Resources
The Career Management Center (CMC) provides tools, services, and other resources to all students. In fact, the CMC contacts incoming students prior to arrival to prepare students for job search–related activities. The CMC has numerous counselors specializing in different industries. Each CMC counselor has strong relationships with many top corporations. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these resources from the moment they step onto campus and as alumni.
Fuqua’s Career Management team offers a number of opportunities for students, including:
On-campus recruitment. The majority of Fuqua students secure jobs and internships via on-campus interviews. Students submit cover letters and resumes to target companies, and some are selected by the company for interviews. Students who aren’t selected have the option to bid for an interview slot using a finite number of points they are granted at the beginning of the school year. If a student unsuccessfully bids for an interview slot, those points are returned to the student.
Alumni network. Fuqua’s alumni network of more than 19,000 is extremely loyal and very approachable. Fuqua students have access to the alumni network database as well as access to the University-wide network of more than 130,000 alumni. The Fuqua alumni network also provides ongoing workshops and networking events for all Fuqua alumni. Additionally, there are numerous alumni clubs in various cities around the world.
Week-in-Cities. Organized by the different student functional clubs, these trips offer students the opportunity to make less-formal visits to companies prior to the interview season so that they can research the companies and connect with current employees. The trips usually take place over the break between second and third term. For example, past marketing club Week-in-Cities events have included trips to companies such as Unilever, PepsiCo, Diageo, and J&J, to name a few. These occur in different cities such as New York and Chicago, the Bay Area, etc.
