Veritas Prep offers a wide variety of Santa Monica GMAT prep course opportunities to fit your academic needs regardless of your undergraduate degree path or individual learning style. If one of your academic goals is to be accepted to the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School, you may need a solid performance on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Don't assume your undergraduate degree has prepared you for this high-stakes test. While you may be familiar with the concepts covered on the test, most of the information is specific to a particular subject area.  We understand how much you want the future promised by earning your graduate degree, and we believe you deserve the skilled academic support of GMAT experts to help you work towards your dreams.

The Graduate Management Admission Council has developed and refined the GMAT over more than 50 years with the help of top business schools from around the country. Today it is considered the premier admissions test for students seeking an MBA. The test is made up of four segments that assess vital business skills. Your GMAT score gives business schools a quick, comprehensive tool for evaluating your readiness to integrate seamlessly into their graduate program. Leveraging a Santa Monica GMAT prep course as part of your test preparation strategy is an excellent way to amplify your studies.

Selecting the appropriate GMAT prep opportunity can provide a significant advantage over other students applying for a coveted spot in an MBA program who decide to attempt test preparation on their own. By utilizing the resources available in a professional Santa Monica GMAT prep course from Veritas Prep, you receive instruction from a test expert and the academic support you need to gain confidence before taking this critical test.

What does the GMAT cover?

The GMAT is comprised of four sections: Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Verbal Reasoning. You just over 3 hours to complete all parts of the test, but if you choose to take the two optional breaks, the total time is closer to 3.5 hours. Considering the complexity of the test and the high-pressure environment in which it is given, seeking a professional Santa Monica GMAT prep course is a great way to optimize the time and resources you have to devote for your test preparation.

The Analytical Writing Assessment is a computer-based test that evaluates your ability to think critically and write effectively. You will be given a reading passage to analyze and critique in this 30-minute portion of the exam. You do not need any prior knowledge to form your argument as you are only expected to rely on the information provided in the reading selection. Evaluators will determine your score with a background in business who will be rating the quality of writing and expressed thoughts, your ability to recognize and interpret key aspects of the argument, and your command of the English language among other things.

Professional GMAT prep resources can be helpful particularly if you are feeling a little behind the curve in your ability to evaluate arguments, organize and develop your ideas in a short period, or provide supporting evidence for your case. It's important to note that these skills will be beneficial as you proceed with your graduate studies and throughout your chosen career.

The Integrated Reasoning piece of the test requires you to answer complex problems by integrating the data provided. You will need to answer 12 questions, which may have multiple parts, in only 30 minutes. There are four possible types of items in this section of the test: multi-source reasoning, two-part analysis, table analysis, and graphics interpretation. Each of these requires multiple skills which business schools and executives find desirable in potential candidates. Ultimately this portion of the GMAT shows your ability to employ data in reaching decisions effectively.

To have success with the questions in the Integrated Reasoning section of the exam, you will need to refine many different types of skills, including the ability to prioritize and evaluate data and then synthesize it in a systematic way that highlights your ability to compare data and solve complex problems. Initially, it may seem as though this is not something you can study for or that it is an innate talent. While there is a component which relies on your natural ability, a Santa Monica GMAT course can help you to optimize and refine your processes. Professional academic support can be particularly helpful, especially when you know you will have limited time to address a diverse collection of problems.

Once you reach the Quantitative Reasoning segment of the examination, you will encounter two types of questions: problem-solving and data sufficiency in a multiple choice format. You will have 62 minutes to answer 31 questions. The problem-solving items require you to utilize logic and analytical reasoning. The data sufficiency questions will evaluate your ability to recognize relevant data, examine a problem, then determine if there is adequate data with which to resolve the problem.

Both types of questions are designed to evaluate your skill in mathematical reasoning, graphic data interpretation, and quantitative problem-solving. The support you gain from a Santa Monica GMAT Course could give you the tools to strengthen your ability in resolving these types of problems with improved precision and efficiency.

In the Verbal Reasoning section of the test, you will encounter three types of questions: sentence correction, reading comprehension, and critical reasoning. You will have 65 minutes to answer 36 multiple choice questions. Sentence correction questions may include identifying proper sentence structure or grammar, answering questions about parts of a sentence, and correcting sentences to make them more precise. Questions that engage your reading comprehension skills are asked after you've read a short passage. You may then be asked questions to evaluate your understanding of the text, your ability to analyze the selection, or your ability to apply the provided information. In the critical reasoning section, you will again be required to read short selections and use the information to answer questions, make and evaluate arguments, and form or appraise plan. A Santa Monica GMAT course allows you to practice these skills and gain valuable feedback on your progress.

What are the benefits of different types of Santa Monica GMAT prep?

Veritas Prep offers several types of GMAT review programs, including Live Classes, courses, and tutoring. Each plan has a unique methodology and advantage, but the end goal of all options is to help you work towards achieving your best score.

When you choose a Santa Monica GMAT course, you will instantly have access to a digital library of interactive lessons you can begin exploring which means you can work on the areas you want at a time that is most convenient for your schedule. As part of your course, you are also given access to a diagnostic test that will provide you with a snapshot of your current level in all areas of the GMAT. As you progress through your lessons, you can come back to the diagnostic self-assessment to monitor your improvement and identify new areas on which to focus. As part of your course experience, you will also have the option of asking questions of an instructor regularly. If you find yourself stumped with a particular section of the test, you can always submit an inquiry and feel confident you will soon be moving forward on your path to graduate school. A Santa Monica GMAT Course is perfect for the busy individual who doesn't want or need a lot of hands-on assistance but who still craves professional guidance during their GMAT preparations.

A live Santa Monica GMAT class is available online and will provide you with 36 hours of high-quality instruction from a teacher who scored in the 99th percentile of GMAT testers over a period of 6 weeks. Instructors deliver lectures and encourage class discussions in real time. This type of academic environment gives you the opportunity to interact with both your instructor and other classmates in real time. As part of this option, you will also have complete access to the digital library of resources offered in our GMAT course so you can go even deeper in those areas you need the most support.

Sara was great
She was very caring about the student's scores, she took the time to answer questions, and gave excellent overviews on the exam. I could not have had a better experience.

Sarah is such a great instructor
I think Sarah is such a great instructor and person. She genuinely cared about our preparation for the test and our post graduate school aspirations. I had to drive every weekend from Santa Barbara but I knew it would be worth it because Sarah never disappointed .

Created a great atmosphere for learning
Sara Boem was great. She cares about student's progress and would always make herself available if students had any concerns/issues outside of the night of class itself. All I can say is that she is very intelligent, created a great atmosphere for learning, and she is a great human being. I will recommend her to my friends and colleagues.

Education: BA, Brigham Young University | MBA, Brigham Young University | Doctoral coursework, University of Utah
Aaron Pond truly loves connecting with his students who count on Aaron to be a mentor, a friend, and a resource throughout the entire MBA application process. While the GMAT isn’t rocket science, Aaron could do that as well after receiving his undergraduate degree in Astrophysics from BYU. Since then, Aaron graduated first in his MBA cohort (also from BYU), and finished his doctoral coursework in Educational Leadership at the University of Utah. Aaron’s engaging teaching style and creative methodologies help students look at questions from a totally different perspective, turning horrendous problems into simple, 20-second solutions.

Even though Aaron has read all of the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings books in German (which seems like one of those “genius-y” type of things), Aaron likes to say, The major work of the world is not done by geniuses. It is done by ordinary people, with balance in their lives, who have learned to work in an extraordinary manner. (Gordon B. Hinckley) As Aaron explains, “It is not just super-geniuses who ace the GMAT. It takes a balanced, calculated approach and it certainly takes work, but anybody can drastically improve their score.”

Aaron was a great teacher.
Aaron was a great teacher. He knows great techniques that  will help you improve your GMAT score. Thanks to Veritas Prep and Aaron, I'm a second year MBA student at one of the nation’s top MBA programs  and already have a full time job offer for when I finish my second year. I recommend Veritas Prep and Aaron to all my friends.

I really could feel like he cared about each student
My teacher Aaron went out of his way and put in extra time and effort to make sure all my questions were answered. He took time in each class to make sure each student understood the concepts clearly and still moved at an appropriate pace.  I really could feel like he cared about each student, not just his contract with Veritas Prep.

I haven't seen an instructor as well prepared as he is.
Our instructor Aaron Pond is a great guy always concerned with each student in our individual needs. I haven't seen an instructor as well prepared as he is.
