Education: BA, Stanford
Chris Kane is clearly someone who has always aspired to -- and conquered -- great heights.   As a climbing guide for nearly a decade, Chris introduced hundreds of people to rock climbing and made notable ascents across North America, from El Capitan in Yosemite to remote big walls in Newfoundland.  After joining Veritas Prep in 2004, Chris was quickly named Instructor of the Year for his engaging and demanding classes that have helped over 4000 students around the world reach their GMAT goals.  In addition to his work as a veteran instructor, Chris plays a key role in curriculum development for Veritas Prep and is co-author of our GMAT, GRE, SAT, and ACT study guides.

In the classroom, Chris believes strongly in the wisdom put forth by Benjamin Franklin: Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn. It’s a quote that has helped frame Chris’s teaching style – one that favors efficient problem solving over memorization.  In Chris’s words: “The entire Veritas Prep curriculum has been developed around the concept of Learning by Doing, and the Ben Franklin quote captures exactly why we’ve done that. Rote learning is not an effective approach in education, and this is especially true when preparing for a reasoning and problem solving based test such as the GMAT.”

Chris is a master of the GMAT material
My instructor, Chris Kane, was outstanding and helped me understand the different types of questions that the GMAT will use and the best ways to conquer these questions. I also did individual tutoring sessions with Chris and would highly recommend him. Chris knows how to teach complex subject matter to students. Chris knows all the different types of questions and strategies that the GMAT will throw at you. Choose Veritas Prep and Chris Kane.

Amazing teacher!
I can confidently say that Chris is responsible for at least 100 points increase in my score. Amazing teacher!

Just an overall great instructor.
Chris Kane was enthusiastic, very knowledgeable in all facets of the GMAT and just an overall great instructor. The 12 books that are given are extremely helpful, especially the skillbuilder sections. I learned valuable techniques and strategies to assist with question approach and time management. It was an awesome experience that was very beneficial.

Education:

As the adage goes, “practice doesn’t make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect.” Hailey Cusimano has had the opportunity to apply this (and many other cliché sayings) to both the sports and GMAT world, ensuring her students are applying the necessary strategies to make their preparation effective and efficient. Hailey emphasizes a strategy-driven approach to GMAT preparation, centered on the idea that every student’s learning style is different. With this approach, she has been able to coach hundreds of students around the world to success on the GMAT with study techniques, strategies, and content reinforcement processes that build critical-thinking skills and allow students to tackle even the toughest questions the GMAT has to offer. When Hailey is not making a difference in her students’ GMAT studies, she can often be found making a difference in the nonprofit world – helping orphaned and abandoned wildlife at one of the animal sanctuaries or refuges she volunteers her time with as she works toward a nonprofit of her own.

Education: BA, Brigham Young University | MBA, Brigham Young University | Doctoral coursework, University of Utah
Aaron Pond truly loves connecting with his students who count on Aaron to be a mentor, a friend, and a resource throughout the entire MBA application process. While the GMAT isn’t rocket science, Aaron could do that as well after receiving his undergraduate degree in Astrophysics from BYU. Since then, Aaron graduated first in his MBA cohort (also from BYU), and finished his doctoral coursework in Educational Leadership at the University of Utah. Aaron’s engaging teaching style and creative methodologies help students look at questions from a totally different perspective, turning horrendous problems into simple, 20-second solutions.

Even though Aaron has read all of the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings books in German (which seems like one of those “genius-y” type of things), Aaron likes to say, The major work of the world is not done by geniuses. It is done by ordinary people, with balance in their lives, who have learned to work in an extraordinary manner. (Gordon B. Hinckley) As Aaron explains, “It is not just super-geniuses who ace the GMAT. It takes a balanced, calculated approach and it certainly takes work, but anybody can drastically improve their score.”

Aaron was a great teacher.
Aaron was a great teacher. He knows great techniques that  will help you improve your GMAT score. Thanks to Veritas Prep and Aaron, I'm a second year MBA student at one of the nation’s top MBA programs  and already have a full time job offer for when I finish my second year. I recommend Veritas Prep and Aaron to all my friends.

I really could feel like he cared about each student
My teacher Aaron went out of his way and put in extra time and effort to make sure all my questions were answered. He took time in each class to make sure each student understood the concepts clearly and still moved at an appropriate pace.  I really could feel like he cared about each student, not just his contract with Veritas Prep.

I haven't seen an instructor as well prepared as he is.
Our instructor Aaron Pond is a great guy always concerned with each student in our individual needs. I haven't seen an instructor as well prepared as he is.

Education: BS, UC Berkeley | JD, USC | MBA, UCLA
Ravi Sreerama has seen his share of Pac-12 universities, having graduated from UC Berkeley (BS), USC (JD), and UCLA (MBA). He’s an experienced teacher who’s been selected as Veritas’ Instructor of the Year, and is currently the single highest-rated GMAT instructor in the world on GMAT Club (yes, you read that correctly). His “99th Percentile or Bust” teaching philosophy has empowered countless students (both in person, and online), and his methods are beloved for combining a rigorous classroom environment with personalized attention.

But it’s his deep passion for “making a difference” that motivates him.  “Sometimes it's big, sometimes it's small. But in the end, you're always making a difference. And when you see your students achieve that success, you can't help but feel proud that you played a part in that process.”   Oh - and did we mention that he’s the highest-rated GMAT instructor in the world?

Apart from his great teaching style, he kept the class motivated.
I took some of these trials with other companies and I can say I was easily bored after 1 hour. But not on Ravi's class. Apart from his great teaching style, he kept the class motivated. He made me try harder on each question one after the other. He reached out to everyone in the class and made sure that we understood where we did wrong and what we could do to avoid mistakes and I think that was the most important thing. He made sure everyone was satisfied at the end of the class and the show up to the classes represented that. It was a very dynamic class with everyone helping each other out and some of us are still in touch, helping each other with GMAT problems.

Ravi was easily one of the best teachers I have ever had.
I have never learned more from any other class I have taken in my history as a student. Ravi was easily one of the best teachers I have ever had. Ravi knew the ins and outs of every problem and explained his reasoning extremely well. I wouldn't recommend any other course or teacher if you are preparing to take the GMAT.

Ravi makes the GMAT looks so much more approachable.
As an international student non-native speaker, I was having a hard time with the verbal session - more specifically with the Sentence Correction. But after taking Ravi's classes, Sentence Correction became my favorite topic in the Verbal session. It's amazing how Ravi makes the GMAT looks so much more approachable. The way he teaches and explains all the GMAT stuffs is spectacular.

Kevin Richardson was born and raised in Philadelphia, so the man takes pride in his cheesesteak-making prowess. But...with all of the time he spent visiting family in North Carolina while he was growing up, he also knows his way around southern soul food. In case it’s not clear by now, Kevin loves to cook.  As in really loves to cook.

Following his time in Palo Alto, Kevin put his education to work, building Soggy Paws, a Chicago-based chain of dog wash and pet product stores. Still dogless himself, he’s hoping to find the time for his own furry pal one of these days. “I move about too much to get a dog again just yet...but I plan to soon!” And when he’s not growing Soggy Paws (or cooking), his focus is on his GMAT students, teaching in a way he describes as “VERY interactive. I actually have the students teach the class.” And what do the students think? “Kevin has the ability to explain a concept at many different levels.  He can connect with the individual shooting for a 760 just as well as the one shooting for a 600.” An obvious recipe for success if we’ve ever heard one (sorry, we had to…)!

Real reviews

He truly cared how we were progressing
Where was Kevin during my high school and college courses? He engaged the class 2 nights a week for 3 hours by creating personal relationships with each one of us. He truly cared how we were progressing in our knowledge of the lessons and helped us each individually during breaks if he noticed we were lost. Class was great.

He took an individualized approach to each lesson
I can't say enough good things about Veritas Prep ... and especially Kevin. He took an individualized approach to each lesson once he had gotten to know each student's strengths and weaknesses. He gave me specific study advice on breaks and before/after class that really helped me.

I raised my GMAT score by 120 points within a month!
I had Kevin Richardson as my tutor.  With his help, I raised my GMAT score by 120 points within a month!  I took the regular Veritas Prep course about 1.5 years ago, but did not take the GMAT right after the course.  After 1.5 years, my skills became rusty, and that resulted in a disappointing score.  Kevin helped me by analyzing my skill-set and pointing out my fortes and my weaknesses. He then customized his teaching methods per my needs and built up my confidence along the way.  After being burned by the low score, it was important to have Kevin providing me with tips for each section and helping me to regain my confidence.  His teaching is easy to understand and right to the point.  For anyone considering a GMAT tutoring service. I would definitely recommend Kevin.

Education: BS,Truman State University | MA, History & Education, Truman State University | JD, University of Michigan
David Newland sees himself not simply as someone conveying information and content but as a coach as well. As he explains, “The students that I work with need more than knowledge, they need to be able to perform to the best of their abilities on test day and it is my pleasure to help them do it!” As a competitor both in athletics and debate his whole life, he could choose to focus on his own successes of which he’s had many, but David finds a greater pride and joy in learning of the triumphs of his students. He truly relishes hearing from students he’s worked with that they have gotten their goal score or into their dream program. So if you’re fortunate enough to work with David, please be sure to let him know when the same happens for you.

Despite all the accomplishments, David did suffered one somewhat traumatic blow early in life. “I put together a song and dance number for the third-grade school talent show and the music teacher required me to lip synch so that no one would have to hear me sing. My dreams of a music career were shattered.”

Born and raised in Independence, Missouri, David earned his JD from Michigan and MA and BA from Truman University and now enjoys living in the beauty of Vermont. In fact, inspired by the Green Mountain state’s quiet, open roads, he’s now considering getting a motorcycle so that he can drive very slowly on the deserted roads of the early mornings. Might just be a great chance to sing out loud as you go, David.

Could I have scored 700+ without David? Probably not
I paid for 28 hours of online tutoring with Veritas Prep. I was assigned David Newland as my instructor. It was the best money I could have spent. Within six weeks of working with David, I scored 770 and 760 on the GMAT Prep Software PP1 and PP2 tests. On the real exam I scored 700 (90%), comprising Quant 47 (73%) and Verbal 39 (88%). The drop between the PP tests and the real test was mostly due to nerves and bad time management on the day. Could I have scored 700+ without David? Probably not given I only had six weeks to prepare. David was excellent. With 8+ years of GMAT experience he knows how to solve every question the test can throw at you. He explained methodology in a clear and easy to apply fashion. He was also flexible and we could frequently schedule sessions on short notice.

This guy is smart and really knows the GMAT inside and out
Got so lucky to get David Newland as my instructor. I went into the course more confident in quant, and David is a verbal expert, specifically in Critical Reasoning. This guy is smart and really knows the GMAT inside and out, which was helpful since I had never taken the exam before. I could hear his voice inside my head as I did practice problems and during the actual GMAT.

David was excellent.
The instructor David was excellent. I found that he took the time to explain each section properly and in easy to understand language. I very much enjoyed this course and would recommend it to any one with a very hectic schedule.

Education:
BS, Duke
MA, NYU
Rich Zwelling is a renaissance man...no, wait- actually- we are saying exactly that.  A graduate from Duke University (BS) and NYU (MA), there’s not much that Rich doesn’t excel at.  He plays tennis and basketball, he swims, he runs (far), he does triathlons. He plays violin, guitar, and piano...he sings!...he’s even a movie aficionado (for current films and all the way back to the early 1900’s).  But if you invite him to play a game of Cranium, beware! - because that’s when his competitive side really comes out.

Rich is diligent in developing his students’ quantitative prowess and adaptive reasoning, teaching the kinds of strategies that result in big score jumps.  As one of his past students said, “Rich Zwelling was definitely a great (instructor), taking the time to explain in different ways.  He also took the time before and after class to go over additional material.”  And online, his results have been just as successful: “Rich was a wonderful help to me.  I did 24 hours of tutoring with him via Skype and I can’t believe how much it helped.”

Real reviews

Because of this class, I was able to get into my first choice school!!
Rich Zwelling was a phenomenal teacher-- so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the course material, with the appropriate amount of anecdotes and fun asides to keep all the students fully engaged. He made the math seem accessible, which was where I struggled. Because of this class, I was able to get into my first choice school!!

Amazing instructor.
Rich Zwelling was an amazing instructor. Very helpful during tough problems, and took multiple approaches to solve problems when students got stuck.
