Education: BA, Brigham Young University | MBA, Brigham Young University | Doctoral coursework, University of Utah
Aaron Pond truly loves connecting with his students who count on Aaron to be a mentor, a friend, and a resource throughout the entire MBA application process. While the GMAT isn’t rocket science, Aaron could do that as well after receiving his undergraduate degree in Astrophysics from BYU. Since then, Aaron graduated first in his MBA cohort (also from BYU), and finished his doctoral coursework in Educational Leadership at the University of Utah. Aaron’s engaging teaching style and creative methodologies help students look at questions from a totally different perspective, turning horrendous problems into simple, 20-second solutions.

Even though Aaron has read all of the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings books in German (which seems like one of those “genius-y” type of things), Aaron likes to say, The major work of the world is not done by geniuses. It is done by ordinary people, with balance in their lives, who have learned to work in an extraordinary manner. (Gordon B. Hinckley) As Aaron explains, “It is not just super-geniuses who ace the GMAT. It takes a balanced, calculated approach and it certainly takes work, but anybody can drastically improve their score.”

Aaron was a great teacher.
Aaron was a great teacher. He knows great techniques that  will help you improve your GMAT score. Thanks to Veritas Prep and Aaron, I'm a second year MBA student at one of the nation’s top MBA programs  and already have a full time job offer for when I finish my second year. I recommend Veritas Prep and Aaron to all my friends.

I really could feel like he cared about each student
My teacher Aaron went out of his way and put in extra time and effort to make sure all my questions were answered. He took time in each class to make sure each student understood the concepts clearly and still moved at an appropriate pace.  I really could feel like he cared about each student, not just his contract with Veritas Prep.

I haven't seen an instructor as well prepared as he is.
Our instructor Aaron Pond is a great guy always concerned with each student in our individual needs. I haven't seen an instructor as well prepared as he is.

Education: BA, Tufts University
Ethan Todras-Whitehill has taught the GMAT all across the world from New York to Seattle to Dubai, and now broadcasts his creative and engaging lessons from his studio in Amherst. In 2013, he won the Veritas Prep Worldwide Instructor of the Year award, but readily admits that he truly found his calling with the launch of the HD video Live Online format. When he’s not teaching the GMAT, he can be found traveling, writing about his travels in The New York Times, parenting, and woodworking. And whether he’s encouraging readers to visit the Himalayas or students to improve their algebra, he always has his eyes on helping others reach that elusive summit.

When not working with his students, Ethan can be found pursuing his other passion of writing. He contributes regularly to The New York Times and Popular Science and has also written for Wired, Condé Nast Traveler, JANE, Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel, and The San Jose Mercury News. He is currently finishing his first novel.

Ethan turns the cold, pragmatic GMAT into a humorous foe
Ethan took me from a 610 to a 690. I have learned from Ethan both in a group and one-on-one setting, and in both he is phenomenal. If you want an instructor who adjusts based off of your learning style,  reinforces both the technical and strategic sides of the GMAT while keeping the material engaging, he's your man. Ethan turns the cold, pragmatic GMAT into a humorous foe by using examples from life and film. After working with Ethan, you won't be able to watch The Princess Bride without thinking of Data Sufficiency... and that's not a bad thing. I went from being nervous and self-questioning on my first test to relaxed, optimistic, and (I didn't expect to say this) EXCITED on my final test day.

Ethan was a phenomenal teacher.
Ethan was a phenomenal teacher.  He genuinely cares that you learn, and more importantly, retain the material.  Everything was very well structured and easy to follow.  I highly recommend this class to anyone looking for GMAT prep.

Ethan was amazing
Ethan was amazing, and made the material very digestible.  His strategies are working and I can tell that he has spent a lot of time thinking about incorporating his style with the material (very polished).

Education:
MBA, UCLA Anderson School of Management
BA, Pepperdine University
Saxon Luke is a true Southern Californian who loves her time outdoors, whether it’s at the beach, hiking with her dog Chili (name chosen so that she can call him the Chili dog), or in her organic vegetable garden hanging out with her backyard chickens. When she’s not soaking up the sun, she can often be found being creative behind the lens of her camera.

Saxon loves teaching her students how to prepare for the GMAT. As she puts it, “I love being around others and challenging people to think differently, but what I love most about teaching the GMAT is being able to encourage students who are feeling frustrated or overwhelmed by the test. Having been through the entire process (and range of emotions) myself, it brings me a lot of joy to show students how to ‘think like the testmaker’ and unlock their pattern-recognition potential!”

Next on Saxon’s bucket list is riding a camel in the Moroccan desert and someday owning a horse. We’re betting she’s got some other impressive bucket list ideas as well!

Education: BS, UC Berkeley | JD, USC | MBA, UCLA
Ravi Sreerama has seen his share of Pac-12 universities, having graduated from UC Berkeley (BS), USC (JD), and UCLA (MBA). He’s an experienced teacher who’s been selected as Veritas’ Instructor of the Year, and is currently the single highest-rated GMAT instructor in the world on GMAT Club (yes, you read that correctly). His “99th Percentile or Bust” teaching philosophy has empowered countless students (both in person, and online), and his methods are beloved for combining a rigorous classroom environment with personalized attention.

But it’s his deep passion for “making a difference” that motivates him.  “Sometimes it's big, sometimes it's small. But in the end, you're always making a difference. And when you see your students achieve that success, you can't help but feel proud that you played a part in that process.”   Oh - and did we mention that he’s the highest-rated GMAT instructor in the world?

Real reviews

Apart from his great teaching style, he kept the class motivated.
I took some of these trials with other companies and I can say I was easily bored after 1 hour. But not on Ravi's class. Apart from his great teaching style, he kept the class motivated. He made me try harder on each question one after the other. He reached out to everyone in the class and made sure that we understood where we did wrong and what we could do to avoid mistakes and I think that was the most important thing. He made sure everyone was satisfied at the end of the class and the show up to the classes represented that. It was a very dynamic class with everyone helping each other out and some of us are still in touch, helping each other with GMAT problems.

Ravi was easily one of the best teachers I have ever had.
I have never learned more from any other class I have taken in my history as a student. Ravi was easily one of the best teachers I have ever had. Ravi knew the ins and outs of every problem and explained his reasoning extremely well. I wouldn't recommend any other course or teacher if you are preparing to take the GMAT.

Ravi makes the GMAT looks so much more approachable.
As an international student non-native speaker, I was having a hard time with the verbal session - more specifically with the Sentence Correction. But after taking Ravi's classes, Sentence Correction became my favorite topic in the Verbal session. It's amazing how Ravi makes the GMAT looks so much more approachable. The way he teaches and explains all the GMAT stuffs is spectacular.

Education:
BS, Penn
MFA, Emerson
David Goldstein would be devoted to Philadelphia’s sports teams.  “It’s granted me plenty of opportunities to cultivate the indispensable life skill of grappling with disappointment.”  But despite his lifelong sports loyalties, this University of Pennsylvania (BS) and Emerson (MFA) grad has shown an even deeper loyalty to his GMAT students. He actually missed seeing the Phillies win the 2008 World Series because he was teaching a GMAT class that night.

David’s favorite lesson to teach?  Statistics, Combinations, and Probability.  In David’s words, “The human brain simply isn’t hardwired to be good at probability. However, students quickly see that with a couple of equations and a few helpful timesaving tricks, these once madding, complex questions become not just manageable, but easy.”  And what do his students think? One said, “The instructor was a GMAT genius and an excellent teacher. Not only did he have answers for every GMAT-related question from the class, but he managed to engage a class of thirty students, all of varying abilities, with poise.  He was approachable, knowledgeable, and friendly. Dave was exceptional.”  We couldn’t agree more.

Real reviews

Phenomenal instructor who is truly passionate about teaching.
Dave Goldstein is a phenomenal instructor who is truly passionate about teaching. He went out of his way to ensure that each student walked away from every class with as much knowledge as we could possibly retain. I have taken a prep course with Kaplan before, and the standard at Veritas is just way above the competition.

He is one of the best teachers anyone can have.
David is a true teacher he is a great person and a great professional. I think I speak for all of the others students when I say that he is one of the best teachers anyone can have.

DAVE was amazing.
The class was a small, intimate class, and DAVE was amazing.  He always made sure everyone was along for the ride- but kept the pace up. The study materials that Veritas Prep gave were great because each subject has a book. Instead of one huge study book- the material is broken out. All around I would recommend this class to anyone.

MBA, Stanford Graduate School of Business
BA, MA, Stanford University
Kevin Richardson was born and raised in Philadelphia, so the man takes pride in his cheesesteak-making prowess. But...with all of the time he spent visiting family in North Carolina while he was growing up, he also knows his way around southern soul food. In case it’s not clear by now, Kevin loves to cook.  As in really loves to cook.

Following his time in Palo Alto, Kevin put his education to work, building Soggy Paws, a Chicago-based chain of dog wash and pet product stores. Still dogless himself, he’s hoping to find the time for his own furry pal one of these days. “I move about too much to get a dog again just yet...but I plan to soon!” And when he’s not growing Soggy Paws (or cooking), his focus is on his GMAT students, teaching in a way he describes as “VERY interactive. I actually have the students teach the class.” And what do the students think? “Kevin has the ability to explain a concept at many different levels.  He can connect with the individual shooting for a 760 just as well as the one shooting for a 600.” An obvious recipe for success if we’ve ever heard one (sorry, we had to…)!

Real reviews

He truly cared how we were progressing
Where was Kevin during my high school and college courses? He engaged the class 2 nights a week for 3 hours by creating personal relationships with each one of us. He truly cared how we were progressing in our knowledge of the lessons and helped us each individually during breaks if he noticed we were lost. Class was great.

He took an individualized approach to each lesson
I can't say enough good things about Veritas Prep ... and especially Kevin. He took an individualized approach to each lesson once he had gotten to know each student's strengths and weaknesses. He gave me specific study advice on breaks and before/after class that really helped me.

I raised my GMAT score by 120 points within a month!
I had Kevin Richardson as my tutor.  With his help, I raised my GMAT score by 120 points within a month!  I took the regular Veritas Prep course about 1.5 years ago, but did not take the GMAT right after the course.  After 1.5 years, my skills became rusty, and that resulted in a disappointing score.  Kevin helped me by analyzing my skill-set and pointing out my fortes and my weaknesses. He then customized his teaching methods per my needs and built up my confidence along the way.  After being burned by the low score, it was important to have Kevin providing me with tips for each section and helping me to regain my confidence.  His teaching is easy to understand and right to the point.  For anyone considering a GMAT tutoring service. I would definitely recommend Kevin.

Education: BS,Truman State University | MA, History & Education, Truman State University | JD, University of Michigan
David Newland sees himself not simply as someone conveying information and content but as a coach as well. As he explains, “The students that I work with need more than knowledge, they need to be able to perform to the best of their abilities on test day and it is my pleasure to help them do it!” As a competitor both in athletics and debate his whole life, he could choose to focus on his own successes of which he’s had many, but David finds a greater pride and joy in learning of the triumphs of his students. He truly relishes hearing from students he’s worked with that they have gotten their goal score or into their dream program. So if you’re fortunate enough to work with David, please be sure to let him know when the same happens for you.

Despite all the accomplishments, David did suffered one somewhat traumatic blow early in life. “I put together a song and dance number for the third-grade school talent show and the music teacher required me to lip synch so that no one would have to hear me sing. My dreams of a music career were shattered.”

Born and raised in Independence, Missouri, David earned his JD from Michigan and MA and BA from Truman University and now enjoys living in the beauty of Vermont. In fact, inspired by the Green Mountain state’s quiet, open roads, he’s now considering getting a motorcycle so that he can drive very slowly on the deserted roads of the early mornings. Might just be a great chance to sing out loud as you go, David.

Could I have scored 700+ without David? Probably not
I paid for 28 hours of online tutoring with Veritas Prep. I was assigned David Newland as my instructor. It was the best money I could have spent. Within six weeks of working with David, I scored 770 and 760 on the GMAT Prep Software PP1 and PP2 tests. On the real exam I scored 700 (90%), comprising Quant 47 (73%) and Verbal 39 (88%). The drop between the PP tests and the real test was mostly due to nerves and bad time management on the day. Could I have scored 700+ without David? Probably not given I only had six weeks to prepare. David was excellent. With 8+ years of GMAT experience he knows how to solve every question the test can throw at you. He explained methodology in a clear and easy to apply fashion. He was also flexible and we could frequently schedule sessions on short notice.

This guy is smart and really knows the GMAT inside and out
Got so lucky to get David Newland as my instructor. I went into the course more confident in quant, and David is a verbal expert, specifically in Critical Reasoning. This guy is smart and really knows the GMAT inside and out, which was helpful since I had never taken the exam before. I could hear his voice inside my head as I did practice problems and during the actual GMAT.

David was excellent.
The instructor David was excellent. I found that he took the time to explain each section properly and in easy to understand language. I very much enjoyed this course and would recommend it to any one with a very hectic schedule.

Education: BA, Stanford
Chris Kane is clearly someone who has always aspired to -- and conquered -- great heights.  His typical Saturday afternoon might involve a mountain hike with his Black Lab, Baxter…which sounds perfectly reasonable, right?  But never one to blindly follow the path more taken, Chris is just as likely to be found scaling the face of something far more “challenging” (his word, not ours; we probably would have gone with “unimaginably terrifying”), such as El Capitan in Yosemite, which he actually did summit after a 4-day climb. The rest of us get winded just thinking about it.

Chris’s favorite quote is one by Benjamin Franklin on education: Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn. It’s a quote that has helped frame Chris’s teaching style – one that favors problem solving over memorization.  In Chris’s words: “The entire Veritas Prep curriculum has been developed around the concept of Learning by Doing, and the Ben Franklin quote captures exactly why we’ve done that. Rote learning is not an effective approach in education, and this is especially true when preparing for a reasoning and problem solving based test such as the GMAT.”

Real reviews

Chris is a master of the GMAT material
My instructor, Chris Kane, was outstanding and helped me understand the different types of questions that the GMAT will use and the best ways to conquer these questions. I also did individual tutoring sessions with Chris and would highly recommend him. Chris knows how to teach complex subject matter to students. Chris knows all the different types of questions and strategies that the GMAT will throw at you. Choose Veritas Prep and Chris Kane.

Amazing teacher!
I can confidently say that Chris is responsible for at least 100 points increase in my score. Amazing teacher!

Just an overall great instructor.
Chris Kane was enthusiastic, very knowledgeable in all facets of the GMAT and just an overall great instructor. The 12 books that are given are extremely helpful, especially the skillbuilder sections. I learned valuable techniques and strategies to assist with question approach and time management. It was an awesome experience that was very beneficial.
