How is the conclusion true, but the reasoning and therefore statement unsound?

Using outside knowledge, we know that hawks ARE indeed raptors -
but the logic isn't good here.
We could say that apples are fruit and bananas are fruit, and then conclude that apples are bananas. This would be the same logic, which is flawed, but this conclusion is more obviously false.
