Any advice you could provide would be greatly appreciated!!

Undergrad: Bachelor of Commerce, McGill University
GPA: 3.86, top 10% of faculty
GMAT Score: 770
Languages: English, French, intermediate Spanish, beginner German

Undergraduate Activities:
-lots of scholarships and awards
-varsity volleyball
-high-school soccer and volleyball coach
-international exchange (WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management, Germany)
-Teachers Assistant and Research Assistant - Cross Cultural Management

Work Experience: Taught 2 undergraduate sections of Organizational Behaviour at McGill and 2+ years with various non-profit organizations, mainly in marketing and revenue development

Extracurricular Activities:
- founded annual scholarship for inner-city youth
- extensive experience with non-profit consulting including web-design and business plan writing
- photography
- training for 2012 Tour D'Afrique, 12,000 km bike race across Africa
- mentor at-risk youth

Target Schools: Berkeley, Yale, Columbia, possibly Oxford and York (aiming for first round)

Post-MBA: interested in transitioning into social entrepreneurship and away from non-profit models (but still primarily interested in the concept of "helping others")

Concerns: relatively short work experience (though lots of life and travel experience), 3 different employers since graduating (all with good reason)

Thank you in advance for your help!!

Jennifer

WOW. nice profile, Jennifer. You have several things going for you, so where do I begin? Firstly, as a woman, you are already at an advantage since there are fewer female applicants than male to b-school. Secondly, a 770 GMAT is stellar and will grab the attention of all the schools on your list. I love that your post-MBA vision ties directly into some if not all of the experience of your past. Many applicants will talk about social entrepreneurship or green energy or microfinance, etc. in their aspirations, but not have the kind of real world experience that demonstrates it's much more than lip service towards a hot area. Varsity Athlete, multilingual, top 20 world-rank undergrad university to boot. In short, you should have a really good shot at just about any b-school you care to consider and should be fielding scholarship offers with that kind of preparation. Hats off, and let us know if we can be of assistance as you pull everything together.
