Is there a rule on the GMAT as to whether a comma can come after the word "and"? I was under the impression that is a matter of style. Hoping there is a concrete answer so that I can get a little help when eliminating sentence correction answer choices!

There is no hard and fast rule. It is a matter of the context in which "and" is used. Do you have some examples from the Veritas texts where you feel that the correct answer choice has hinged on this?
