I am scoring around a 650 on the practice exams. I am really shooting to get in the 700+ range. How do the practice exams match up against the real test? Are they more difficult, less difficult, or about the same? I have been using the on demand version of veritas for about 1.5 months now and have taken all but four of the practice exams, including the Arco, 800 score, Veritas practice. If the practice tests are similar do you have any advice on how I could increase my score further. Thanks in advance for your posts!

Plazzaro,

I can only speak from my experience, but I just finished the GMAT about one hour ago and I feel like the only tests that are really close to accurate are the GMAC free practice tests.

I feel like the Veritas/Thompson practice tests are far too easy in the quant sections. Also, I scored an average of eight points lower on Veritas' verbal than I scored on both the actual GMAT and the other practice tests. There was something about the Veritas verbal sections that didn't agree with me.

The GMAC practice tests--the free ones you can download from http://www.mba.com were the most similar to my GMAT experience. The questions were of similar difficulty and the scores were pretty close.

I hope this helps.

I agree with Plazzaro. I was scoring in the 650 range with Veritas and 800 Score tests. The GMAC tests were by far the most difficult, and unfortunately, most accurate! I scored the same on the final practice GMAC two days before the real (600). For me, the quantitative on the real exam is more difficult because it really hits you hard with data sufficiency at the beginning.

Sat my test yesterday my pre-test scores were going from my first test result of 510 to my last sample test result of 750.

The final test result was an extremely disappointing 600.

I am not entirely sure what conclusion to draw from this...
