Hi everybody,

Just got enrolled on the IMMERSION course at Miami, and have more questions than answers right now, hope you can help me with some of them:

1. Anybody else around to be at the same course at Miami between October 23 to 29?

2. Tried to study GMAT by myself for 6 months but the result was a lame 570 (GMAT lose my first exam and took the second after a painful week waiting for the answer about my first exam and with a overload of work). With a investment banking background never had enough time to spend in the GMAT. In average how much additional points I could gain after the course?

3. Travelling from Ecuador to Miami just for this course and having a total immersion on GMAT, planning to stay for 3 weeks, one for the course and 2 for finishing homework and refining techniques, while in the last week I will give the real GMAT at Miami. Away from work and only focused on this, is that enough time?

Thanks for sharing your experience, and the help of Administrators

Pablo Andres

Hi Pablo,

Welcome to Veritas Prep! I'd be happy to answer a few of your questions.

2. You are so bold to post your score! I attended a class last night and one of our students stated that he'd give up who he's voting for before he would tell what he scored on his GMAT. Also, 570 is not a lame score, the average score is about a 530. To answer your question, on average, our Veritas Prep students notice about a 60 point increase.

3. Typically, we suggest about 3-4 weeks of study time after our Immersion Course, but since you won't have work awhile you are here, I think you will be in good shape.

Please feel free to contact us at headquarters if you have any further questions or concerns! 800.925.7737

Happy studying! :)

Thanks Jenny, that was a warm welcome. Hope you can help with 2 additional questions:

1. Which is the closest hotel to FIU or any accomodations you recommend for this course? got friends at brickell but guess is more than an hour to FIU
2. Which exactly is going to be the course - from the information is Kovens Center at FIU (where exactly it is located inside FIU)

Tks

Hi Pablo,

I'd be happy to answer your questions:

1. We have a corporate rate for all of 2011, which is 20% off the best available rate, at the Aventura Mall Hotels - Residence Inn, Courtyard, and Hampton Inn. From what I hear, the Residence Inn is the nicest and most expensive of the three, then Courtyard, then Hampton. You just need to say that they are booking with the Veritas Prep corporate rate. All three hotels are a few miles (approx 10 min) from Kovens Conference Center, where we hold our classes.

2. Before your course starts, you will receive an email with your location details. Here's the address, directions and parking info:
Kovens Conference Center
Florida International University
3000 NE 151st Street, North Miami, FL 33181
(888) 4-KOVENS

From Miami:
Take I-95 North and exit 10B towards NW 135th Street. Turn right at NW 135th St and head east. Turn left at US 1/Biscayne Blvd and head north. Turn right at 151st Street. Follow signs to Kovens Conference Center, drive past the main entrance/information booth of Florida International University on the left side. Turn left into the parking lot of the Kovens Conference Center.

From Ft. Lauderdale:
Take I-95 South and exit 16 towards Ives Dairy Rd/NE 203rd St. Turn left at NE 205th St and head east. Turn right at US 1/Biscayne Blvd and head south. Turn left at 151st Street. Follow signs to Kovens Conference Center, drive past the main entrance/information booth of Florida International University on the left side. Turn left into the parking lot of the Kovens Conference Center.
Parking:
Free on-site parking

Hope this helps!
Jenny
