Good afternoon, I am currently enrolled in the live online class. I took my first 800 score practice test today. As you probably know 800 score gives separate raw scores for each section of the test, which are then plugged into their calculator to determine the overall score.
On the quant section I scored a meager 43. This score was noticeably lower than my quant score I received when taking 2 previous practice tests from veritas competitors.
On the verbal section I was given a raw score of 53, the 99th percentile, which I found very curious because I was told that the highest score possible is a 51. This was all but confirmed when I attempted to plug my 53 into the 800 score calculator and received a warning message that the score input has to be between 0 and 51.
On my previous practice tests I scored a 43 and a 46 on verbal. I also noticed that the verbal section seemed easier to me on this test - especially the RC passages. The writing was very simple, almost as if the passages were taken directly from reports written by juniors in a public high school science class.
Can anyone comment on the correlation between 800 score and actual gmat scores. According to the 800 score calculator, a 43 quant and 51 verbal is a 760.
