I'm thinking of ordering the ondemand DVD of the course since I won't be able to get to the classroom at the times the classes are held.

Are there chances to ask questions from someone at veritas if I'm going through the DVD and do not understand something or want clarification?

You can definitely use our support lines to get help with anything you see in On Demand or in a classroom. Your best bet for support will be to post a question in the Support Forums here, specifically, in the folder that pertains to your inquiry. Note that those particular folders are accessible to current students only. Our instructors and staff constantly monitor the forums and will reply to you almost immediately. You can also use our telephone and email support lines, which are available to you 25 hours a week.
