I just finished the GMAT. I am going to take it again very shortly because I feel that I didnt do my best on the verbal. I am trying to determine what my chances are of getting into the following schools: NYU, Columbia, University of Chicago, Wharton, Harvard.

GMAT Score: 670 Q47 V35
GPA: 3.4 Overall, 3.7 last two years (Accounting and Finance Major)
Work Experience: Total of 52 months experience
12 months - in Management at a large retail store (managed over 20 individuals).
40 months - working for a nationwide public accounting firm. I am currently a CPA
Other: Leadership positions held in my undergraduate, including president of fraternity (a lot of philanthopic work during that period of my life).

Taking into account my profile what do I need to score on my GMAT to have a real shot at acceptance at above stated schools during round 2? Also, what is my shot with my current score? Also if your conclusion is that my chances are slim at those schools, are there any schools that you would suggest? Thank you for any advice you can provide me with.

Sincerely,
Pete

You currently have a solid profile. However, both your GMAT and GPA are average for the schools on your list. You can improve the likelihood of acceptance by getting a GMAT score above 700. You should also add a least one safety school to your list. A safety school is one that you stand a very good chance of getting into (GPA, GMAT, and work experience is above the school's average) and that you would actually considering going to.
