Dear VP consultant,

I am from Honduras. Right now I am in Sweden until December doing my master thesis (I graduated from Telecom Eng. at Spain in June 09) . I want to start an MBA on Jan '10. My options are Columbia and Fordham(it has to be NY and in Jan). I started preparing the GMAT 2 weeks ago. I had some problems with the verbal part and read the testimonial from a guy from portugal that was in the same situation as I was. I was planning to fly to Norway (verbal part) and Stockholm (quantitative part) to take the VP weekend course because I missed the verbal by 1 week. I am so glad that I looked that testimonial because I buyed the prep on demand course... It´s just great!! best investment ever!!!

I am travelling to NY on Sept 19 to make the GMAT on the 22nd and the Toefl on the 25th. I am so happy with VP that I think it would be great if I can get some admission consulting support. I was thinking that it would be a good opportunity now that I am going to NY for 12 days. I have the letters of reccomendations and the Essays but it would be great to meet someone of VP and review my application. I dont know which is the best package since I already did the course online :(

Thank you for your feedback. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,
Arturo

Hi Arturo, congrats on all the work you've been doing towards your MBA admissions! It sounds like you're very motivated, which is so important.

Without knowing the exact reasons behind your wish to start in NYC in January, I can still offer an additional school to consider: the NYU Part-Time program has multiple session starts, including one in the Spring. As I'm sure you know, NYU is competitive with Columbia for attracting top-notch candidates, though the part-time program has a different profile of students than their F/T one (usually a bit older, and not changing careers).

Perhaps a review of your essays is all that you need (see here for details on this service: http://www.veritasprep.com/mba/essay-editing-details ). However, my guess is that even though you're well down the path with your applications, you might benefit from a Diagnostic Session, which is a candid discussion with an expert about how you've positioned yourself in your applications (US$350). (Unfortunately you've just missed our MBA Admissions Blueprint in New York which would've been ideal!)

I'd recommend that you give us a call at 1-310-456-8716 to discuss options. I'm sure we can find a way to help you out.

Good luck!
