What are the benefits of applying to the Consortium especially if you are a non-minority but can prove your commitment to diversity? Can it ever to hurt to apply through the Consortium? I've read the Consortium's web site but was looking for more information about the program. Like, how many people apply via the Consortium a year? How many are accepted? How many at their first choice schools? If anyone can shed light on this matter, I'd appreciate it.

Hello,

A few benefits of applying through the Consortium include:

* Fellowships/Scholarships -- access to almost 80 corporate partners, a mandatory Orientation Program (OP) prior to beginning their MBAs, and access to over 5,500 Consortium alumni across 14 member schools

* The Consortium awards over $11 million in full-tuition, merit based MBA fellowships annually: All Consortium members are considered for a two-year fellowship covering tuition and required fees

* One application for up to 6 schools

* It saves applicants money: tiered application fees ( e.g., three schools for $150, six for only $330)

In short, I don't think it hurts at all to take a chance on applying to the Consortium. I don't have any recent admissions statistics, but I can tell you that, anecdotally, our clients who apply via the Consortium tend to do significantly better than those who go the normal route. That's not a huge sample size, but it's large enough that I feel confident saying that.

At Veritas Prep we have a few consultants who specialize in working with Consortium applicants, as well as some consultants who are Consortium alumni themselves!

Scott
