 Post subject: SC 2 #35 (p 55)

In SC 2 #35 (p 55)... I narrowed the choices down to B and C. Can you explain 'does' and 'has' in this context a little further?

From the first-class wait staff to the exotic dishes and the ornate silverware, everything about the banquet was designed to impress, and it is.

B. is designed to impress, and it has
C. is designed to impress, and it does

It is a question of tense. I since "impress" is in the present, we need to use "does" (refers to something that is happening currently)
