Is it possible to have back-to-back prepositions in a sentence?

e.g.
"The car arrived from behind him"
"The bird descended from above"

Where "behind him" in the first example functions as the object of a preposition despite the fact that it is a prepositional phrase itself?

Many thanks
Gwen

What you have written is not strictly incorrect, but we really need to look at these in the context of complete GMAT problems. It is unlikely that either of the phrases below (or similar phrases) would appear in a correct answer choice.
