I am wondering why statement (I) is sufficient, what happens if x=1. then there is no remainder.

So the answer would have to be C instead of B as it says in the video.

Can someone please explain?

Thanks.

If x = 1

the remainder when divided by 2 is 1

the quotient is 0, remainder 1
