Hi,

I am not sure what the answer meant when it stated that the "information says nothing about the relationship between circle X and circle Y" when the statement 1 said that the Circumference of X is greater than Circumference of Z and Circumference of Z is less than Circumference of Y? Can we deduct that the Circumference of X will be less than Circumference Y? Please advise.

thanks,
T

Statement 1 relates X and Y to Z, but it doesn't relate X and Y to each other.

Circumference of X > Circumference of Z

Circumference of Z < Circumference of Y

From this, we can see that X and Y both have greater circumferences than Z does, but we can't deduce a relationship between X and Y. X could be larger, Y could be larger, or they could be the same.
