This is a great example of how Data Sufficiency questions are often a lot more about logic than they are about math.
Here, the question asks how many of the "recent releases" were rented on Friday night.
Statement 1 tells us that 75% of "all videos" were rented, but nothing about the recent releases, so it is not sufficient.
Statement 2 tells us that 3182 is the number of videos that was rented, but doesn't distinguish between "recent releases" and the rest of the videos, so it also is not sufficient.
Even when taken together, we can determine that:
3182 (the total number of videos rented) = 75% of the total number of videos available
But we still don't have sufficient information to distinguish between "recent release" and the rest, so the correct answer is E. Here we didn't even have to (get to?) do any actual math - it all came down, much like Critical Reasoning, to understanding the "conclusion", which dealt specifically with recent releases.
