Hello,

I've sat down one night for the last three weeks to 10 Data Sufficiency Questions in 20 minutes (so 2 min for every question). I'm using the Veritas Prep book and keeping the answers out of the book and making a log so I can go back to the questions later.

I'm still averaging about half right and this is sort of freaking me out.

Any advice? I've gotten better at memorizing the answer choices and only once have picked the wrong letter even though I knew the right answer. I just don't seem to be doing this questions quick enough. Plus, I feel the need to write down a lot which I think is costing me precious time.

Thanks!

When I approach a Data Sufficiency question, my goal is to squeeze as much information out of the question stem as I possibly can. Ideally, I'll be able to identify the pieces of information that the statements must provide in order to be sufficient.

For example, if a question stem sets up a percent change problem, I know that there are pieces of information involved: starting point, ending point, and amount of change. I need two of these in order to find the percent change.

By figuring out what the statements must provide before I even look at them, I've made the evaluation process a lot easier.

Give it a shot and let me know what you think!

Bill
