I got this problem wrong but I don't understand the explanation provided for the correct answer. I'm wondering if this is an error since the explanation doesn't seem to make any sense...or maybe I am missing something here. Can someone take a look and let me know what they think?

is a^2 > 3a - b^4

from (1)

3a - b^4 = -5 .... so a^2 is definitely greater than 3a - b^4 because squared numbers are always positive and (1) establishes that 3a - b^4 is negative

from (2)

we can establish that a^2 > 3a . We know this because a > 5, so a^2 is > 5a

if a^2 > 5a, then a^2 > 3a

b^4 is positive, so subtracting b^4 from 3a makes it even less that a^2 (it was already less than a^2 to begin with)
