 Post subject: Advanced Word Problems & Quantitative Review

Hi,

I was trying to solve Advanced Word Problems & Quantitative Review question 34 (page 41). The answer indicates that the 'r' for bigger semicicle is 20m, however, the graph shows that the 'r' for the bigger semi circle should be 10m plus 20m, i.e. 30m. Could you please clarify this?

Look more closely at the diagram. You'll notice that on the leftmost side, you have a 40m measurement. This tells you that the diameter of the bigger circle is 40 and that the radius must be 20, not 20+10.
