I’m having problems with the following inequality questions:

Algebra – p. 107

84. if b < 2 and 2x-3b=0, which of the following must be true?

(A) X > -3
(B) x<2
(C) x=3
(D) x <3
(E) x >3

If we can find x in terms of b, then we can plug it into the inequality.

2x-3b=0

2x = 3b

2x/3=b

If 2x/3=b, then it also has to be less than 2:

2x/3 < 2

2x < 6

x < 3
