Hi I would really appreciate a hand with this question:

When p is prime, #p=p^2. When p is not prime, #p is equal to the largest prime factor of p. Which of the following is equal to #6 x #7?

A: 42

B: 76

C: 96

D: 108

E: 147

I thought the question was testing my knowledge of units digits in products. So, I pretty much ignored the first part of the stimulus and focused on the fact that the product of #6 x #7 must end with a 2, so I looked for an answer ending with 2 and picked A...but the answer is E.

since 6 is not prime, #6 = 3 (since 6=3*2, largest prime factor is 3)

since 7 is prime, #7 = 7*7 = 49

49 * 3 = 147
