The perimeter of a certain isosceles right triangle is 16 + 16 * square root of 2. What is the length of the hypotenuse of the triangle?

A - 8
B - 16 <--answer
C - 4*sqrroot 2
D - 8*sqrroot 2
E - 16*sqrroot 2

I started the problem by knowing that 2x + x*sqrroot 2 = perimeter. It looks easy but I couldn't get the arithmetic to work out. I know that x is one of the small sides so I would have to do an extra step to find the length of the hypotenuse. Please let me know the steps for the arithmetic. Also, if there is a quicker way to get the answer it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Eric
