To celebrate its tenth anniversary, the Indian School of Business (ISB) has announced its new ISB@10 International Scholarship, which the school award to 10 applicants from 10 different regions around the world.
No school in recent memory has risen in prominence as quickly as ISB has. While the school has already become one of the premier (if not THE premier) MBA program in India, the school has been very clear about its plans to boost its international profile, and to attract many more top-tier MBA candidates from around the globe. The SB@10 International Scholarship is the newest part of this effort.
The details of the scholarship, taken from ISB’s website, are as follows:
- The scholarship amount ranges from INR 300,000 to INR 1,500,000 (approximately $5,800 to $29,000) depending on the merit of the application
- There are specific scholarships for North America, Latin America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, China, South East Asia, Far East Asia, Australia, SAARC countries and Africa.
- To apply for the ISB@10 International Scholarship from a particular geographic area, the applicant should have a passport issued by a country from that geographic area
- To apply for the ISB@10 International Scholarship, the applicant should submit an essay on the topic: “The India growth story and why I want to ink my career growth in India”
It will be interesting to see what the response is to the scholarship. While many Indian MBA applicants are eager to earn their degrees abroad and then return to India, so far few American applicants have been eager to study in India beyond short study-abroad programs. ISB is still very young, though, so this may change over the next decade or two. When we toured ISB’s facilities and met its administrators and professors, we came away incredibly impressed. This is clearly a school on the rise.
