This week we introduce a new series in which we profile some of the Management Leadership for Tomorrow Fellows who have recently taken a Veritas Prep GMAT course. Last month Veritas Prep donated 200 GMAT prep courses to MLT, allowing every MLT Fellow to enroll in a GMAT course for free. Dozens of MLT Fellows have completed (or will soon complete the course), and now we want to let some of them share their stories here.
In our first profile, we meet MLT Fellow Lydia Mitchell, from Chicago!
How did you become involved with MLT?
I attended Diversity Weekends at several different MBA programs and I ran into many MLT Fellows in the process. The Fellows that I met spoke very highly of the program and said they would highly recommend it. I attended an Information Session in Chicago, IL and was immediately sold. I was so inspired and motivated to pursue my career goals I knew that I wanted to be part of the MLT family
Why do you want an MBA?
I want to purse an MBA to make the transition from Market Research to Brand Management and would love to secure an Associate Brand Manager position with a top CPG company post B-School. Further out in my career I would like to start my own Marketing Consulting Firm and work on ad-hoc projects for various companies in the CPG industry
What do you do for a living now
I currently work as a Market Research Analyst for the Nielsen Company supporting MillerCoors in Chicago
What has your GMAT preparation experience with Veritas Prep been like?
Veritas Prep has exceeded my expectations! I actually took another prep course over a year ago and was very surprised that I learned so much information at Veritas that wasn’t covered in the previous course. My instructor was awesome (Frankie Beecroft — Chicago) and I really looked forward to going to class each week. I still have a lot of work to put in to achieve my desired score, but Veritas has definitely put me on the right path
What are you most looking forward to in business school?
I am most looking forward to getting to know all my new classmates and expanding my network. I am most inspired when I surround myself with smart, motivated, ambitious individuals and I am really eager to spend 2 years developing relationships with my classmates.
