Rita grew up in the countryside of Northern California, where she spent a childhood exploring old redwood forests and reading beneath California oak trees. As she grew older, her adventurous nature took hold, and she began to backpack all over the world, learning Portuguese and Spanish and working as a teacher in low-income communities in North and South America. Her passion for education intensified during her four years in college, culminating in a three-month trip to Somalia to research women's health and education.
She recently graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in Science, Technology, and International Relations, and she is enjoying decompressing after a decade and a half defined primarily by academic institutions. She still loves reading, and has become very invested in writing both fictional short-stories and non-fiction essays. She keeps long lists of new words she encounters when reading - which comes in handy when teaching the Reading and Writing portions of the SAT and ACT - and she is determined to impart that habit on all of her students.
Real reviewsI would strongly recommend her to other students.
Rita was absolutely amazing. She really cared about how we were doing and did everything she could do to help us with the SAT. She also made the class very interesting. I would strongly recommend her to other students.

While she is currently pursuing a film career in Los Angeles, Sidhi is excited to keep teaching students to beat standardized tests! Sidhi was born in Brookfield, Wisconsin, a suburb of Milwaukee. She was named a National Merit Finalist and National AP Scholar in high school and won the Cardinal Stritch piano festival as well as the Civic Music Association scholarship her senior year. A Classical Studies fanatic, Sidhi took first place in the Academic Decathlon and was named MVP of a Latin-based quiz bowl competition at the National Latin Convention. She went on to concentrate in Neuroscience at Brown University, where she was later inducted into the Sigma Xi honor society. Her first summer of college, Sidhi became a branch manager for Ivy Insiders, a program which allowed students to set up their own mini-tutoring companies. She was ecstatic to witness her help result in an average ACT score boost of 6 points for her students. Later in college, she also tutored for BRYTE, a student-led program which pairs undergraduate tutors with refugees from Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Now Sidhi resides in Los Angeles and splits her time between Hollywood and Veritas Prep.
Sidhi was very knowledgeable and even provided some of her own outside information when teaching us the roots of words and their meanings.
I loved her!
Sidhi was awesome - she presented everything in a way that made it easily learnable. I loved her! I feel so lucky to have gotten her, she was a huge blessing.
Sidhi is a great person and an excellent instructor! She is a very detail-oriented, diligent, pleasant, and caring teacher. She made the preparation course a completely stress-free experience.
With a passion for travel and studying foreign languages, Lalita had the privilege of living on three different continents in 2009, having spent over a month each in Asia, Europe, and North America. Growing up bilingual as a Thai-American in Los Angeles, she learned early on to experiment with the rules, boundaries, and interplay of mixing different languages. At Cleveland Humanities Magnet High School, her lifelong love affair with philosophy, the humanities, and intellectual exploration was piqued. While earning her Bachelor’s Degree at UCLA in American Literature and Culture (with minors in Asian American Studies and Comparative Literature), Lalita also took Intermediate Thai, which afforded her the opportunity to participate in the Advanced Study of Thai summer program at Chiang Mai University in Thailand. During her undergrad years, she also spent a summer studying “Multiculturalism in Hawai’i” (through UCLA’s Asian American Studies Department) at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. She then got to fulfill her lifelong dream of living in New York City when she was accepted to the prestigious English and Comparative Literature program at Columbia University, in which she earned her MA while being enthralled by the ideas of Jacques Derrida and Michel Foucault. Since that time, Lalita has gone on to earn certificates from Le Cours de Langue et Civilisation de la Sorbonne and TEFL Paris.
Teaching has been a longtime passion and talent for Lalita, as she has over a decade of experience tutoring and teaching various academic subjects, including: test prep, Thai language, ESL, Asian American Studies, and University Writing. Most recently, she has spent two years as a Thai Town foodie tour guide, four years as a lecturer at Cal State University, Northridge, and three years as a Literacy Program volunteer for the Los Angeles Public Library.
She looks forward to demystifying the SAT for her students and (hopefully) even making it fun!
